- 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/8th teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup chilled butter, cubed (Earth Balance for Dairy-Free)

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Bread
- 2 + 1/4 cups almond flour
- 1/2 cup Swerve Confectioner Sugar Replacement
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons baking powder (Hain brand is Grain-Free)
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons half + half or coconut milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2/3 cup fresh grated apple (not apple sauce)
Glaze (optional)
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (Earth Balance for Dairy-Free)
- 1.5 tablespoons cream (half and half or coconut milk fine as well)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup Swerve Confectioner Sugar Replacement
- 1/8th teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Line your bread pan with parchment paper. We love this 1 pound USA Pan.
- Put together your cobbler crumble first: In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, coconut flour, Swerve, cinnamon and salt. Cut in butter with a pastry cutter. Add milk, vanilla–then using your hands, work the wet ingredients into the flour and butter until you have dough. You will break this apart and crumble it over the bread batter later–set aside for now.
- Go ahead and use a grater to shred 2/3 cup of fresh apple.
- Now mix together your batter: In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, cinnamon, baking soda and baking powder. Sift in swerve. Whisk until combined evenly.
- Add eggs, milk, olive oil, apple cider vinegar and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth with whisk or electric hand mixer. Add apple and blend once more. Pour batter into your parchment lined bread pan. Break your crumble topping into pieces and sprinkle evenly overtop. Cover your bread pan TIGHTLY with foil. Bake in a preheated oven for 65 minutes covered, then 8 minutes uncovered. You must let your bread cool COMPLETELY before slicing. We set it in the freezer for 35 minutes or so–cools quickly so you don’t have to wait too long for that first bite!
- Slice cooled bread and store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container. Delicious right out of the fridge or warm it on a plate in the microwave for 15 seconds on cooler days. Enjoy!

You’re so kind Noelle, thank you! So happy fall is drawing near, love making spiced breads!
This bread looks incredible!! I cannot wait to try, perfect for fall! Loving that icing .. yum!
Thank you sweet Natalie!! I can’t get enough of this bread, I hope you love it!
That texture is beyond amazing. I think I’m in love! Pinning! xo
Aww thank you Kim, you’re so kind! 😀
does the grated apple get mixed into the batter? the recipe doesn’t say specifically
It does indeed! I’ve just added it there, thanks so much for catching that, hope you enjoy the recipe!
Can these be made as muffins?
Hi! These could be made as muffins, you’ll just need to reduce the time to about 21-23 minutes and make sure to fill the liners just a little over half way full. I hope you love them! 😀
I made this bread exactly the way the directions stated, however I did not make the glaze. It was honestly just meh. I thought that with all the elements coming together it would be amazing. The texture was way too grainy, and just not enough apple flavor. I get that almond flour lends a bit more texture than wheat flour, but it was a bit too much. I have made a keto banana bread with almond flour and did not notice a texture at all. I hate leaving reviews like this, but I was super excited for this bread. I’ll probably find a different apple bread recipe. Sorry
Hi, thanks for leaving your feedback, I’m sorry this didn’t work for you. We love it, but to each their own. There is a blogger alldayidreamaboutfood.com she has amazing low-carb recipes, I would definitely recommend checking her out if you haven’t already. I hope you find an apple bread that you love.
