Tequila Wallbanger
Spend your summer nights sipping this refreshingly delicious Tequila Wallbanger cocktail!
Most of us experience tequila one of two ways- either masked in the cloying sweetness of a margarita or taken at the end of a long work week in a shot glass and chased down the gullet as quickly as possible with cheap beer.
Now, there’s nothing wrong with either of those delivery systems and both certainly have their place, but tequila is a much more nuanced spirit than many people realize and it deserves to be considered as a serious cocktail ingredient. So let’s talk about something deeply serious- the Harvey Wallbanger.
The Harvey Wallbanger rose to popularity during the 1970s cocktail bar scene. Our parents or grandparents might have sat in cheesy cocktail lounges sipping Harvey Wallbangers while “Midnight at the Oasis” or “Tie a Yellow Ribbon” played softly over the sound system.
I’ll admit that my recipe is a bit of a stretch because I’m swapping out some of the original ingredients but hey, I like the name Tequila Wallbanger so I’m running with that. All nomenclature issues aside, the Tequila Wallbanger is a super refreshing summer cocktail loaded with lip-smacking citrus. For summer grilling in the backyard or just hanging out with friends on the porch, you have found your perfect cocktail.
We recommend making some of our World’s Best Guacamole to pair with this drink. And if you’re a fan of mixed drinks, you might also enjoy our Celery Gin Rickey or our Black Walnut Old Fashioned.
Happy Cocktail Making!
